God So Loved The World
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.
What’s that again?
God, the creator of the universe, the great I AM, the almighty one
Loved us so much,
That he would risk all and give his only precious son,
Just for us?
I need to stop, think and try and get my brain round this.
He loves us so much
Each and every one of us,
Yes, you in the blue jumper,
Yes, you who are crying inside,
Yes you who are going grey at the edges,
Yes, you who are day dreaming about that girl down the road,
Yes, you the fidgeting inquisitive child
Yes you who are wondering what God is calling you to,
Yes YOU
He loves you so much He gave you his only precious son.
Can we really take this in?
Can this astounding, mind bending, world changing news
Eventually, really, dawn on us?
Can it slowly seep down our legs and make our toes tingle?
Can it ripple down our arms and make our hands wave?
Can it rise upwards and make our lips crinkle into a smile?
Can it get to our brain and turn thoughts rainbow colours?
God so loved the world that he gave his only son
Keep saying it to yourself until you burst with joy
God so loved the world that he gave his only son.
