In the quietness of this time,
We remember the light that shone around the angels,
And we light this Christmas candle. (Light a candle)
Take time to look at the light

As they told the shepherds not to be afraid
Let this light remind you that God’s spirit comes
To assure you not to be afraid
To tell you he loves you
To tell you, you are not alone
He says, do not be afraid to let his light into your life.

As they told the shepherds, they had a message of peace on earth
Let this light remind you that God’s spirit comes
To unravel the tangles of your life
To heal you when you feel broken
To bring peace to your soul
He says be at peace in his light
Take time to look at the light
Remember the light that shone around the angels
As they told the shepherds that their joyful tidings are meant for all
Let this light remind us that for all means
Seeing all people as our neighbours,
Showing each person is accepted
Being communities that lift and love
He says reach out to someone who is searching for this light.
In the quietness of this time,
We light this Christmas candle for hope, joy, peace and love.
